PRIVACY POLICY
Last updated: October 10, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how Claplio ("we," "us," or "our") handles information connected with the Claplio mobile app ("App"). The App helps you find your phone using supported sounds, and may provide motion and device-event alerts. Different features may use different permissions and technologies.
1. MICROPHONE ACCESS AND ON-DEVICE SOUND RECOGNITION
When you enable sound-activated phone finding, Claplio uses your device's microphone to detect supported sounds, including claps, whistles, and finger snaps. Sound recognition runs locally on your phone using Google's YAMNet pretrained sound classification model. The microphone input is analyzed on the device to identify sound events. Claplio does not upload microphone audio to Google, our servers, or a remote recognition service for this feature. Audio is processed as needed for detection and is not saved as a local audio cache or recording. Claplio does not retain a history or log of detected claps, whistles, or finger snaps.
YAMNet is a pretrained machine-learning model used within the App, not a standalone usage-analytics service. Its inclusion does not mean Google receives microphone recordings. This local processing statement concerns sound recognition; Google AdMob separately processes certain advertising information as described below.
Claplio does not use the sound-detection feature for speaker identification or biometric voice authentication. Microphone access can be turned off in iOS Settings, but clap, whistle, and snap detection will then be unavailable. Claplio does not keep local recordings, audio caches, or sound-detection histories. This statement does not describe the separate advertising data handled through Google AdMob.
2. DEVICE STATUS, PREFERENCES, AND NOTIFICATIONS
Depending on which functions you enable and what iOS permits, Claplio may use motion information, Bluetooth audio route changes, charging and battery states, and device-unlock events to trigger requested alerts. It may save trigger selections, alarm sensitivity, chosen sounds, notification preferences, and related settings.
If you authorize notifications, Claplio may show alerts associated with enabled features. Notification permissions can be managed in iOS Settings.
3. ADVERTISING THROUGH GOOGLE ADMOB
Claplio uses Google AdMob to deliver and measure advertisements. Depending on your region, privacy choices, device configuration, and the applicable AdMob settings, Google may process data such as IP address, device or app attributes, advertising identifiers (including IDFA if permitted), ad views, ad clicks, and related diagnostics for ad delivery, measurement, fraud prevention, and other purposes explained in Google's privacy notices.
Where tracking requires permission under Apple's App Tracking Transparency rules, the App will request that permission before tracking. You may deny permission or later change it in iOS Settings. Denial does not necessarily remove advertisements; ads may still be delivered using data and methods permitted without tracking authorization.

4. PURCHASES AND SUBSCRIPTIONS
Claplio offers a weekly subscription at US$4.99 and an annual subscription at US$24.99, with no free trial. Apple handles App Store checkout and payment details. We may receive or process purchase status, transaction identifiers, renewal state, and entitlement information necessary to grant or restore a purchased benefit. We do not receive your complete payment card number from Apple. Prices shown at checkout may be localized.

5. PERFORMANCE DATA AND OTHER TECHNICAL INFORMATION
App and advertising components may process technical information needed for operation, advertising, security, and troubleshooting, as described in the relevant sections of this Policy and in the providers’ privacy notices. YAMNet performs sound classification on the device and is not a usage-analytics SDK. Claplio does not store microphone recordings, audio caches, or sound-detection history.
6. SUPPORT CONTACTS
When you email support, we receive the information you choose to send, such as your email address, message, and attachments. We use it to respond and resolve your issue. Avoid sending private recordings or sensitive personal details unless necessary for support.
7. WHY INFORMATION IS USED
Depending on the type of information and feature involved, processing may be necessary to detect selected sounds, operate movement and device alerts, remember your preferences, maintain purchased entitlements, provide and measure advertising, troubleshoot failures, protect app integrity, and answer support requests.
Where applicable law requires a legal basis, it may include providing requested services, compliance with legal duties, legitimate interests in reliable and secure operation, or consent for processing that requires it. You can manage device permissions and applicable tracking consent through iOS Settings.
8. DISCLOSURES AND THIRD PARTIES
Information may be handled by Apple for subscriptions and platform functions and by Google AdMob for advertising, under their respective notices. Claplio's YAMNet-based sound classification runs on the device. The recognition process does not require sending microphone audio to Google or a recognition server. These disclosures describe the services identified in this Policy.
We may also disclose information where legally necessary to respond to valid legal process or protect rights and safety, consistent with applicable law.
9. RETENTION AND SECURITY
Data is retained only for legitimate operational, support, contractual, or legal purposes. Settings stored on a device may remain until cleared or the App is removed, depending on device behavior. Advertising and platform providers may apply their own retention schedules. Claplio does not retain a local audio cache or detected-sound history. Microphone audio is used transiently for on-device classification rather than retained as recordings. Retention of preferences, support correspondence, advertising data, and platform transaction records is separate and depends on the applicable purpose and provider.
We use reasonable protective measures for information under our control, but no system is completely risk-free.
10. YOUR CHOICES AND RIGHTS
You can turn off microphone access, change notification settings, and manage applicable tracking authorization in iOS Settings. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing of personal data under our control, or to receive a portable copy. Send inquiries to [email protected]. We may ask for reasonable verification and may retain records when required by law.
11. CHILDREN
Claplio is a general utility and is not intended to solicit personal information from children. Advertising and privacy protections for younger users are applied as required by applicable law and platform rules. If we learn of unlawful collection of children's data, we will take steps required by applicable law.
12. INTERNATIONAL PROCESSING
Third-party service providers may process information in countries outside your place of residence. Where relevant law requires international-transfer safeguards or additional notices, those requirements apply.
13. UPDATES
We may revise this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to features, software components, or applicable law. We will update the date above and provide further notice when required.
